The five-day event, organized by the Gems & Jeweler Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) begins in Mumbai July 31.Sonam Kapoor is the face of the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) after designer Farah Khan Ali, who created waves at the inaugural edition last year decided to give it a miss this time due to other commitments.
'I am not showcasing at the second edition of the jewelry week as I am working on a bigger project which requires time and concentration,' said Farah, who was in the news recently after international singer Beyonce Knowles wore a crown designed by her for the new music album 4.
The jewelry at Mumbai's Grand Hyatt hotel will see collections from designers like Varuna D Jani and brands like Amrapali, Tanishq and Ganjam.
Top Bollywood celebrities, models and some international icons, whose names are being kept under wraps, have been roped in to walk the ramp during the event.
